Frequently Asked Questions

Our Memorial Range of Glass is lovingly produced to the highest specifications in our workshops located in Bath, England. We have 20 years of experience putting ashes into memorial glass.

If you cannot find the information you require, please do not hesitate to call us on 01225 319606 or memorials@bathaquaglass.com

How much ash do I send?

We ask for you to send a teaspoon of ash per item (a pair of cufflinks would be one item). Only a small amount of ashes are used to create our glass products. Any unused ash will be returned to you once the order has been completed (UK only, due to Customs regulations). We advise that you do not send us all or the last of the cremated ashes. Our memorial packs include a second small grip-seal bag for you to put some ash in to keep safe in case you would like to place another order in the future. Unless instructed otherwise by you, we will return any unused ashes to you along with your completed order (UK only, due to Customs regulations).

How do I send the ashes?

If you have placed your order online we will send you our Memorial Pack that contains the small grip-seal bags. Both our Online Memorial Pack and Mail Order Pack will contain a padded envelope for you return the ashes in.

You can send the ashes to us via Royal Mail. We recommend you always send them Tracked and Signed for.

Once the ashes have arrived at our studio, we will notify you via email, or by phone.

What do I do if I have multiple sets of ashes?

If you are looking to place an order with multiple sets of ashes, we ask that you place separate orders for each set of ashes. For online orders, this will generate different order numbers which we ask you to write on the corresponding bags of ashes to avoid confusion.

For mail pack orders please let us know that you have separate sets of ashes and we will make sure to give you enough order forms, or you can photocopy the form. When returning the forms please ensure each set of ashes is labelled clearly with the corresponding order form and items.

How long will my order take?

The crafting process of our memorial glass is quite time consuming, therefore your order can take a few weeks to process. We aim for all orders to be processed in approximately six weeks from the date we receive the ashes at our studio.

For large orders, or orders of our Silver Rings, please note that it may take longer to complete your order. We will make sure to keep you updated.

If you have an urgent order, please contact us to confirm feasibility before ordering.

Can I order my item in a colour that’s not on your website?

If there is a colour you would like that we don’t offer as part of our main range, we are happy to start a discussion with you on what you would like. However, we cannot always guarantee it will always be possible.

Please call us on 01225 319606 or email our memorial department at memorials@bathaquaglass.com to discuss the process of ordering a bespoke colour.

Can you make other items?

We are always looking for new designs and are happy to discuss your requirements. Unfortunately, not all designs are possible due to the nature of the materials involved.

Who makes the items?

We do. Larger Memorial Glass items are created by our Master Glassblower.  Our Dichroic Range of Jewellery is crafted by our small team of fused glass artists.  Our Memorial Glass rings and charms are a collaboration between our fused glass team and Jody Cory, a Goldsmith located near to Bath Abbey and our Abbey Shop.

I don’t live in the UK, can I still place an order?

We are able to accept international orders however we are not able to return unused ashes (due to UK Customs regulations). We therefore advise that you send us a minimal amount of ash per order. Please check with your local postal supplier’s regulations regarding transporting cremated remains before ordering, as Bath Aqua Glass are not liable for any ashes lost in transit.

Can I put more than one set of ashes into a single product?

Yes. You can mix the ashes yourself or send us instructions to mix them for you. We will then place the ashes into jewellery/ glass as per your order.

Can I put one set of ashes into one cufflink and another into the second?

Yes. Please make a note of this on your order and we will make sure that the ashes are kept separate during the crafting process.

How will my purchase be delivered?

All UK orders are sent via Royal Mail or can be collected in Bath.  You will be contacted when your order is dispatched (by email or phone) so you will know when to expect it.  Every order is sent tracked and signed for.  If you know you will be out, please let us know so that we can make appropriate delivery arrangements.

Overseas deliveries will be fulfilled as requested.  Unfortunately, we cannot post the Stained Glass panels overseas, due to increased risk of damage.  If you wish to discuss delivery options further please call us on 01225 319606 or email memorials@bathaquaglass.com

How is my item engraved?

Our in-house engraver can engrave your letters, numbers, words or images onto all our objects.  During checkout you will be asked to provide details of the engraving.  For further information please consult our Engraving Section here.

Yes.  Please contact us for a quote on 01225 319606 by emailing memorials@bathaquaglass.com

Can I have my beloved pet's ashes put into glass?

Yes.  We work with all forms of ashes, please contact us if you have any concerns.

Can you make a sealed glass container to hold the loose ashes (for example a bauble or hour-glass)?

Unfortunately not.  All the products we currently produce have the ashes worked into the hot glass.  However, we can create a bespoke glass urn with a glass lid, please contact us for details and a quote.

Can you help find a Funeral Director or help with other Funeral Services and advice?

Unfortunately not, our specialism is creating beautiful glass keepsakes.

For non-website orders, when do I need to pay?
